Extraordinary potential deserves extraordinary care

CLARO CENTRES
Our Learning Centres - Nanaimo & Kelowna, BC
Since 2010, Claro has provided a full-time, integrated day program for neurodivergent children and youth in Nanaimo and Kelowna, BC. While families experience Claro as an integrated whole, our program comprises two distinct aspects that are delivered and funded separately.

ONLINE SCHOOL SUPPORT

Mornings are dedicated to supporting children and youth in their online school program through Kleos Open Learning.
Kleos is responsible for all educational programming, including planning, delivery, instruction, assessment, and reporting, delivered by certified Inclusive Education Teachers. Kleos contracts Claro as a service provider to support students in accessing their learning.

At Claro, Mentors provide skilled in-person educational assistance to help Kleos students work toward their IEP goals and teacher-directed learning outcomes. Children and youth are supported in small pods of 3 to 4, each with one Claro Mentor.

Some children and youth choose to attend only the morning online school support portion of the day, based on family preference.

SMALL-GROUP BEHAVIOUR INTERVENTION

Afternoons focus on small-group behaviour intervention to support the development of life skills, social connection, and emotional regulation. Children and youth participate in centre- and community-based activities, including recreation, life skills, social-emotional learning,  nature and community exploration, volunteering, and pre-employment opportunities.

This portion of our program is fully planned and delivered by Claro and is privately funded by parents/guardians, billed at an hourly rate.

Some children and youth choose to attend only the afternoon small-group behaviour intervention program, based on family preference.
